The village of Nerokourou is located east of the village of Mournies at the feet of the mountain Malaksa, just 4 kilometers from the city of Chania. The area of Nerokourou has got a great history since the archaeologists had discovered a Minoan Settlement and its findings are today located in the Archaeological Museum of Chania. In Nerokourou, you will also find the abandoned oil-press with the damaged facilities and the semi-circular arch of carved limestone. Additionally, there is a small plateau in the place of the old mosque, surrounded by buildings of typical local folk architecture of Nerokourou. Its hilltop location, its proximity to the centre of Chania and the amenities make the specific area an ideal destination.
